How to use Smitty to change user attributes?(The easy Way for non-AIXer dudes)





I wrote down many blogs on how to use the CLI (lsuser and chuser),to check and change the user attributes!

Well, If you are not AIX guy and find it hard and difficult to use the CLI,Don`t worry!
Don`t worry because there is an easy way to accomplish these tasks using smitty menu!

Simply, Invoke the following command:

#smiity chuser


After invoking this command, a mean would appear asks you about the name of the user:
 


 
NOTE: if you press ESC+4 (Or F4), a pop-up menu would appear which list all the user in this system, then Move cursor to desired item and press Enter.



After writing the name of the user, another menu would appear which contains all the attributes and the ability to change it!






 
If you are wondering How to use this smitty, then don`t worry, it Is super easy ;-) , just go to the desired attribute that you want change and write down the new value. After you finish all the changes press Enter and a menu like the following would appear informing you the statues of the changes that you did (could be ok=successful and may be failed=un-successful)
